Accent Reduction and Communication Skills Coaching
My training and career in Speech Language Pathology is what sets my practice aside from other coaching professionals in the areas of Communication skills and Accent Reduction. After working in the health sector of Speech Pathology, I diverted my training to work with foreign English speakers in the corporate sector. It was my training as a Speech Pathologist, combined with my experience in geriatrics that allowed me to develop a knack for working with another diverse adult population. I increased my skill set with a number of clients whose communication and accent needs were highly linguistically diverse. I have experience in correcting accents from Greek, Spanish, French, Russian and Persian descents. I have been approached by many professionals wanting to grow their careers with the goal of improving communication and pronunciation skills. In addition to my background I am affiliated with various professional organizations including, the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Institute of Language and Phonology (ILP). In 2016, I became a certified P-ESL instructor in the Compton Method of Pronouncing English as a Second Language. I furthered my training in 2018 when I became a Certified Communication Coach in the highly regarded 3V method that focus on the modalities of communication as a whole, specifically in the corporate sector. In addition to my professional experiences, I come from a bilingual speaking home of Russian and English, and have personal experience in re-location and cultural adjustment in a particularly linguistically diverse city.
