Discover Corporate Speech Pathology

A key takeaway from this presentation is to recognize that achieving a corporate client base is best achieved through multiple ways of developing visibility and credibility within the corporate arena.

One of the challenges of corporate speech pathology is to understand that client volume might well fluctuate while recognizing the requirement for consistent effort.

One of the rewards for offering SLP services to corporations is to appreciate that “the sky is the limit” with respect to financial return and professional accomplishment.

When first preparing a business plan to offer SLP services to corporations, the plan should include a wide array of goals rather than limiting the initial plan to one specific goal.

One of the business advantages that an SLP can offer to corporations is the application of clinical experience to drive business results.

Corporate SLPs can ethically and credibly offer training in linguistic diversity, leadership skills, executive coaching, and business writing if they are appropriately trained in these areas.

The SLP’s presentation skills training should focus on loudness, intonation, and pauses rather than including facial expressions, gestures, body language, and eye contact, leaving the latter for in-house corporate trainers or service providers specializing in nonverbal skills.

When an SLP offers training in presentation skills, the SLP should not include content related to formal business language and instead should focus on conversational language typical of the client’s job responsibilities.
